What CodexSkin collects

CodexSkin does not require a site account or password. The public website is served from Cloudflare, which may process standard request metadata such as IP address, user agent, URL, timestamp, and basic security signals to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

CodexSkin uses Plausible Analytics to understand aggregate website usage such as page views, referrers, device/browser category, country-level location, and download/navigation events. Plausible is used for privacy-friendly analytics and does not create advertising profiles for CodexSkin.

CodexSkin also uses Google Analytics to measure aggregate traffic and page performance. Google may process usage metadata according to its own privacy terms and browser controls.

CodexSkin does not run ad pixels or session replay on the public pages.

PayPal purchases and licenses

PayPal processes payment account and funding details on its own pages and frames. CodexSkin does not receive or store card or bank details. PayPal provides order and capture identifiers, payment amount and status, and a payer reference needed to confirm delivery, refunds, and reversals.

CodexSkin stores PayPal order/capture identifiers, product and amount, a one-way hash derived from the payer reference, encrypted license delivery data, entitlement status, and verified webhook event IDs. These records support license delivery, fraud prevention, accounting, refunds, and dispute handling. PayPal processes information under its own privacy policy.

Custom theme artwork

Image selection, cropping, palette extraction, and previewing happen locally in your browser. CodexSkin does not receive the original source image during preview.

After a verified $2.99 customization purchase, the browser sends a newly rendered 2400 × 1500 JPEG and limited theme settings to build the complete installer. Re-rendering removes source EXIF and GPS metadata. The resulting private package is retained to support recovery downloads and is accessible only with the purchaser's customization code and a short-lived download link.

Local runner boundary

The downloadable runner operates locally on your machine. It applies visual themes to a local Codex Desktop renderer through a loopback-only session. It does not need a CodexSkin account and is designed not to read or upload Codex API keys, provider settings, authentication files, prompts, or project contents.

Theme packs contain artwork and theme settings. They are not a reporting or telemetry channel.

Downloads and checksums

The website publishes file sizes and SHA-256 hashes so users can compare downloaded ZIP files against the public release metadata. Download requests may still appear in normal CDN/server logs as part of website delivery.
